MEET THE FILMMAKERS

We're Jordan and Logan Lefler - brothers, filmmakers, and photographers born and raised in Montana. For the past year, we've been creating Journey to the Sun, a cinematic documentary about the dramatic history, beauty, and impact of one of America's most iconic mountain roads: Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.


This film captures more than just the views. It dives into the wild effort it took to build the road, the lives it connects, and the seasonal rhythm of the crews who still maintain it. With breathtaking footage, powerful interviews, and a deep love for the park we've grown up exploring, we're telling the story of a road that changed everything.


With your help, we'll be able to share this project with the world. A portion of all proceeds from this fundraiser will also be donated to the Glacier National Park Conservancy, because we believe in giving back to the place that inspired it all.

THE IMPACT

Journey to the Sun is a film about connection - between people and place, between generations of workers and travelers, between the past and the future. Going-to-the-Sun Road is more than just a scenic drive. It's an engineering marvel, a symbol of adventure, and a deeply personal part of Montana's identity. Our film brings that story to life in a way that's both visually stunning and emotionally grounded. As filmmakers, we've spent over a decade creating work for PBS, nonprofits, and outdoor brands, but this is the most ambitious and meaningful project we've ever taken on. With your help, we can finish strong and make something unforgettable.

WHAT WE NEED

Our total film budget is $80,000. Thanks to generous grants and private donations, we've already raised $55,000 but we need your help to close the gap. Recent changes in the political landscape have caused several grant programs to pause or shut down, including some we were counting on for final production and editing. That's why we're turning to our community, to those who love Glacier, independent film, and meaningful storytelling. Your support will go toward:

    Filming the road through all seasons and interviewing the people behind it

    Getting the film into festivals, communities, and streaming platforms

    Bringing the past to life with historic photos and film
